Home Additions for Adding Property Value

One of the reasons people get their homes renovated is because they’re trying to increase its overall value. Sometimes, it’s as simple as conducting regular roof maintenance. But some residents prefer to conduct bigger projects in order to ensure bigger returns. The question is: what is the best home addition when you’re interested in increasing your property’s value? Here are a few suggestions.

Home Additions for Adding Property Value

Kitchen Renovations

Improving or expanding the kitchen is one of the biggest investments one can make when it comes to home additions and renovations. This project can improve the way your kitchen works either by adding or changing up the existing furniture and appliances or can free up more space by increasing the available space the kitchen uses.

The potential returns for this project are high. The kitchen can be a great place for a family to bond, since the more comfortable it is, the more time they’ll be spending there. It can also become a place for hosting dinner guests, which makes it an integral part of any modern home.

Expanding the kitchen may entail expanding the residential roofing overhead if necessary, but this can be an added expense well spent: kitchen renovations generally have an up to 76% return of investment.

Deck Installation

Most people who don’t have the space for a patio opt to have a deck installed instead. This addition is a little bit like getting a patio replacement installed, and can be used for the same activities a patio can. This makes it a great multi-purpose addition to any property, and a great draw for potential buyers.

One thing you’ll have to consider when installing a deck is that your roof will have to be extended over the deck itself to protect it from the elements. Since it will be a relatively exposed structure, consistent roof repair might be necessary to ensure that the deck doesn’t get too affected by the elements. When you consider that this can yield up to an 80% return on your investment, it doesn’t sound like such a bad idea.

Bedroom Additions

This is a little bit easier to understand. A property with a master bedroom is always a good investment since it offers the promise of a bedroom with plenty of space and a personal toilet and bath. On the other hand, converting an attic into a bedroom can increase the number of rooms in the property, making it easier for potential homeowners to host guests on the fly. These two additions can offer a potential ROI of 67% to 70%.

No hassles, no stress roofing contractor.

We've worked with a number of contractors over the years doing home improvement projects and I can say that, without question, working with Pressure Point was about as easy as it gets.

Everything about the project, from sales all the way to final inspection, went like clockwork and without a hitch.  They delivered more than they promised, on time and within budget.   We could not have been happier with their personnel, products and services.  Highly recommended!

I've changed my review from a 1 star to a 4 stars. Matt Stone got right on a pretty poor job done installing a skylight. He had his guys remove the skylight, move it, repair the roof and inside ceiling to its original state, paint it, repair some external trim that was damaged, and all within a few days after talking to him about the multiple problems. It was really an eyesore from the inside. I'd give a 5 star if this had been done well the first time. The skylight just didn't fit the space I first wanted it and was told it would. More communication about the potential problems might have allowed this to be done right the first time. But, Pressure Point Roofing gets 5 starts for making amends and correcting a pretty ugly problem, very fast! Thank you.

I needed someone to come out to take a look at a leaky roof. I contacted Pressure Point Roofing, Inc. and they came out the same day. They gave me a quote to fix the problem and I agreed to their terms. It was about 4PM and I knew they closed at 5PM but they stayed and fixed the leak at no additional cost. I was very happy and impressed. Would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Pressure Point Roofing for earning our families trust. Will definitely be doing business with you again.

Wouldn't be good if I didn't think the best of my own company right?!

Matt Stone

Excellent experience, prompt and professional estimate, showed up on schedule (actually a day early) and did a thorough and complete job. All personnel were professional, polite and great at their jobs. Would recommend to anyone.

I am so happy I chose Pressure Point to replace my 40-year-old roof.  The crew was professional, efficient, and answered all my questions, addressed the few concerns I raised, and made me feel comfortable, trusting them with such a big project.  I couldn't be happier with their work and the look of my new roof.
